Directions
Wings Over Topeka 2003 will be held at Forbes Field, Topeka, Kansas. Forbes Field is located just south of Topeka. The following routes are designed to provide the easiest and quickest entry to the air show, as recommended by Law Enforcement. Look at map.
Kansas City: Air show traffic will proceed westbound via Kansas Turnpike to Exit 183 East Topeka Toll. Air show traffic will then proceed west bound on I-70 to California exit. Exit right. At the top of the exit ramp a message board will instruct air show traffic to turn left onto SE California and proceed southbound to SE 45th St. At 45th St, a sign will direct air show traffic to turn left and proceed eastbound to SE Berryton Rd. At SE Berryton Rd, a sign will direct air show traffic to turn right and proceed southbound on Berryton Rd. to SE 77th Street. At SE 77th Street, a sign will direct air show traffic to turn right onto SE 77th Street and proceed westbound to Heartland Park Topeka entrance, where they will be directed into parking areas. Shuttle buses will be provided to and from main gate of air show.
Wichita: Air show traffic will proceed northbound via Kansas Turnpike to exit 177 South Topeka Toll. Upon exiting tollgate, air show traffic will immediately exit right onto ramp leading to S. Topeka Blvd. Air show traffic will proceed eastbound _ mile to S. Topeka Blvd. Air show traffic will turn right onto S. Topeka Blvd and proceed southbound on S. Topeka Blvd 2 miles to the main entrance of Forbes Field, where Law Enforcement will direct them into air show parking areas.
Salina: Eastbound via I-70 to I-470. A message board will be provided directing air show traffic to take I-470 eastbound to US75 southbound. Air show traffic will proceed southbound on US75 to SW 77th Street exit (only) and exit right. Air show traffic will then turn left onto SW 77th Street. Air show traffic will proceed eastbound on SW 77th Street to S. Topeka Blvd., where Law Enforcement will direct them into air show parking areas.
Alternate route: Eastbound on I-70 to SW Auburn Rd. Exit right. Turn right onto SW Auburn Road and proceed southbound on Auburn Rd. to SW 93rd Street. Turn left onto SW 93rd Street and proceed eastbound on SW 93rd Street to S. Topeka Blvd. Turn left onto S. Topeka Blvd and proceed northbound to SW 77th Street. Air show traffic should move to right lane.
Holton: Air show traffic proceed southbound on US75 to I-70. Air show traffic will proceed westbound on I-70 to I-470. Air show traffic will proceed eastbound on I-470 to US75. Air show traffic will then follow same route as from Salina.
Meriden: Air show traffic will proceed southbound on K-4 to I-70. Air show traffic will proceed westbound on I-70 to California exit. Then follow same route as from Kansas City.
Burlington: Air show traffic will proceed northbound on US75 to SW 77th Street, where Law Enforcement will direct them into air show parking areas. Air show traffic should move to right lane.
Notice: Parking will not be allowed on shoulders of any road way. Violators will be towed.
